The objective of the introduction course is to provide participants a flying start in the use of the Handshake Solutions design flow. The course provides a step-wise introduction to the Haste design language and the associated design tools.

After the course, the designer shall be able to set-up a design in Haste and to optimize it, for instance towards low cost or low power. The designer will have an awareness of the cost of the various language constructs, and has guidelines on when to apply which construct.

 

The course consists of two sections, one focusing on the Haste design language and creating and optimizing Haste designs using the frontend Handshake Solutions design and analysis tools. The second section gives an overview of the complete design flow and focuses on the backend part of the Handshake Solutions design flow. During the course the participants will be able to get hands-on experience during a number of exercises.
